Biogas upgrading

Biogas upgrading is a key process to transform raw biogas into high-quality biomethane, ready for grid injection or liquefaction.

Latec uses membrane-based technologies to ensure efficiency and reliability, while also offering alternative solutions such as amine treatment.

CO₂ valorization

A key element of the upgrading process is CO₂ valorization. CO₂ is captured, liquefied, and stored in dedicated containers for commercial distribution.
This approach reduces environmental impact and creates an additional revenue stream for the plant.

Biomethane liquefaction

Biomethane separated during the upgrading process can either be injected directly into the grid or sent to a liquefaction system.

Latec offers two main solutions:

  • Nitrogen-based liquefaction — a simple and effective system
  • Modified Linde cycle technology — optimized for energy consumption, ideal for small-scale plants
